I go to a nationally ranked public high school and is top 3 in the state of Indiana. It is known for its quality academics and sports. Its courses are much more rigorous than your average high school. Since it is more rigorous and nationally ranked, will colleges admissions officers know that and how much does it increase my chances and/or help me stand out?
My kids went to a very competitive HS and it seemed that colleges took that into account when reviewing their application. If your HS has Naviance that could help you see how kids from your school have done in terms of college admissions.
Colleges will get demographics and ranking if your school ranks (so if you’re 1st and have a couple Bs, they’ll know). It will probably have a moderate impact.
