High School Results - Hill, Groton, Miss Porter's, Lake Forest, Hotchkiss, Choate, Milton

I just got my results for the schools above- I was accepted for all of them except my top three: Choate, Milton, and Hotchkiss. I’ve been waitlisted for my top choices and I don’t know what to do.
Should I be waiting for replies from these schools, and how long do waitlists usually take to get back to you? Out of the ones I’ve been accepted to, do you have a personal recommendation?

Thank you and congrats to all other incoming freshman!

Congrats! Those are all amazing schools. I’m sure you’ll thrive wherever you go.

Plan revisits to the ones where you were accepted. In all likelihood, you will need to enroll at one. Figure out which one you like best. They are great options, btw…

You can let the others know that if you are offered in spot, you’ll take it. But WL often don’t move.

Groton has a very low admission rate so congratulations ! If I may ask, what were your application strong points ?

You need to decide for yourself. If you can, try to attend revisit days for all of the schools.

Thank you!- I’m a passionate violinist and I’m an Asian American girl- I’ve been playing for 9 years and my instrument is kinda my one true love. I think I another strong point was me being in many service projects related with music and actually utilizing my experience to help those in need! Service is really great if you can link it with something you’re passionate about. No way did I get an outstanding SSAT; I think it came down to my essays and interview.

Thanks for the advice!

Thank you!

The best advice repeated time and time again on this board is to love the school that loves you! Don’t dwell on the waitlists and choose one of the schools that chose you!

Wow, I didn’t get my Lake Forest decision yet. When did you receive yours?

Earlier this week (Tuesday or Wednesday I think) By email. :frowning:

Groton, Groton, Groton!

Go zebras! @brassarrow

@pepperonipizza I realize this is an old thread, but as a mom of an Asian American violinist aged 9, I’m interested in what kinds of service you did that was tied to music, as well as which school you chose and how much time you have for music along with academics.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

Indeed. Old threads should be used for research only, but should not be revived. The original poster has not been here since March. Closing thread.
