High School Senior Course Load

Should i reconsider taking gym?

Gym is only a two yr requirment @ my school but i've taken it for three years and it fits perfectly with the rest of my schedule. Not to mention that its awesome being in gym lol

AP Art history
AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
Honors Lit IV
Honors Mixed Choir

Regular Level Political Science (It's the only civics/politics class my school offers its a lot of hands on political work with the Mikiva convention and local work with aldermen) I'm taking AP US Gov this year (is this a bad course choice?)

Gym IV (sure i could fill this with Honors science or Honors math or some other "academic" regular elective but will it be seen negatively by college admissions?

I really doubt it. Schools don’t expect you to be a robot and it sounds like you have a pretty difficult course load already–I say go for it. At my school, gym is required all 4 years. You can get a waiver, though, if you want to take another academic class instead; this was something I strongly considered when choosing classes for my senior year but ultimately decided not to do. Like you, I already had a lot on my plate (5 AP classes) and felt that I needed some kind of break in my schedule. I don’t regret it and I really don’t think it impacted the decisions I got from the colleges I applied to.
