What are some things a hs senior needs to take into account if he wants to go to medical school?

See the stickied threads at the top of the page, but keep your grades up, major in what you want, dabble in extra-curriculars such as volunteering, clinical experience (shadowing or volunteering), and possibly research if you are interested in it. Don’t overburden yourself with classes or with ECs. If you have AP credit in chem, physics, or bio, consider retaking the courses in college for easy A’s and to help you adjust to learning in a university environment. Be aware that some medical schools don’t take AP credit in those classes and a larger number require that you take more advanced classes to replace them if you accept AP credit. This is mostly important for AP physics, because few people take more physics where a lot of people end up taking some biochem, genetics, etc.
