I just interviewed with UCB for the Regent Scholarship. I keep hearing that UCB is really hard to be the top. Will it be really dumb of me to go to UCB and risk jeopardizing my first year? And if I somehow do well, will med schools give more weight in my application? My intended major is chemistry (even though it says undecided).
There are other posters who attend or have had children attend UCB so I won’t advise you about the relative difficulty of Berkeley vs other schools.
But this I can answer for you—
The answer is no, medical schools will not give a magical boost during admissions just because you went to UCB.
