Do online courses count just as much as regular community college classes when looked at by colleges, or do they factor them in to the GPA differently? It would be the same exact class just a “distance” course. Also if anyone has had experience with this, are CC classes factored in as 4.0’s or 5.0’s? I made sure they were UC-transferrable
Yes, they count the same.
In “our” case they were not dual-enrollment (they were CC credit only) and were transferred into UC as CC courses- not included in the HS gpa.
I believe weighting is by school policy and would vary. I would ask the registrar or GC. I expect they would “not be weighted because only AP and some honors are weighted and no one thought about CC courses.” But that is just my cynical opinion. Obviously, they should be weighted just as “college equivalent” AP courses are weighted since they are college equivalent.
Hmm… UC website says that they will weight any community college courses taken, which is where i get confused
