How big of a role does your hs transcript/hs GPA play if you're trying to transfer for your sophomore year? I honestly did not do well in my Senior year, because I just quite simply had gotten into BC (a relatively good school), and got lazy. Now after going to the orientation session at BC, I'm not sure that it's the perfect school for me. It's a GREAT school, I just don't think it's the "ONE" for me. I'm still going to give it a chance and all that, I just wanted to know that if I did decide to transfer, how big an impact would my less than stellar hs transcript be if my college grades are good?

Hmm...

I got a 2.9 in HS with several D's and F's. I got a 1920 on my SATs. One year at CC with 3.76 GPA and 38 units completed and USC accepted me. There's hope for everybody and HS GPA plays a role for certain schools. Most of the time, college grades supersede high school grades.

Thanks for that. That helps ALOT.

Another question, I've heard that it's easier to get into a school coming from a community college opposed to a private school (like BC)?

Depends what state you are in. If you are in california and want to go to the UC's, the community colleges would be your best bet. The "better chance" from community college is wrong for most other schools though. I want to say that they dont care since a lot of people from CC got accepted to awesome schools this year. What matters is your GPA, test scores, ECs, recs, etc... its a big picture type thing (with grades and scores probably most important)

Anywho, do exactly what you said in your previous post... give BC a chance, go in act like you are going to stay there for four years. Come november, if you are still thinking about transferring, then apply. There only thing you have to lose is time and money. In the end, if you get accepted to places, you can either stay or BC or go.
