High School Transcripts for Transfers?

Do we really need to provide high school transcripts when transfering from a CA Community College? My UC peer advisor has assured me many times that no, I will not have to. But I just got accepted to UCSB (yeah!) and it looks like I WILL have to. This is awkward for me since I have a strange educational background.

Let me know if you know anything about this.

Thanks!

Oh, BTW:
GPA: 4.0 with TAP
IGETC: completed Fall '04
EC: A few (VP of one club, some volunteering, official member of honors club, Phi Theta Kappa)
Major: Interpersonal Com. Studies (hopefully @ UCLA)

yes, you should send them both transcripts
hs and ccc

It might depend on the school. When I log onto the UCR website, it says i've been accepted and it requests my college transcripts but not high school.

Charlie, on the UCSB page where it lists your conditions of enrollment, it says submit either high school transcript OR Igetc Certification by july 15.

I just got off the phone with the admissions department at UCSB, and Tifania, you are right. If you have completed IGETC there is no need to provide high school transcripts. Just need to send in IGETC certification and official transcripts of college coursework.
Oh, in case anyone was interested, UCSB still has not sent out any award letters for the Chancellors or Regents scholarships as yet (at least not for transfer students). They will be mailing them out in about one week or so.

Thanks again to everyone, and good luck.

oh great!!
then all we need is the IGETC certification and the official transcript (CCC)

Thanks ;)

Yea i was concerned too because my high school transcript is UGLY!
It's really just too embarrassing. :(
I guess that's why they came up with the whole transfer process, for people who see the light (in community college of course) :)
