My son sent his transcript, through Parchment.com, to the schools he's applied to. He's received notices from Illinois State and Northern Illinois that they can't process his application because they haven't received his transcript.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Why would you send your transcripts through a 3rd party vs sending them through one of the school approved methods (Common app, school’s own website). Transcripts coming directly from the students are not considered official transcripts, they must be uploaded through the school or be signed/sealed by the school usually in an envelope that says official transcripts

Is Parchment.com the normal way for students in Illinois to submit their transcripts? If so, have other students at his school had similar problems?

Chances are that you can resolve this with a quick phone call to the universities, so do that on Monday.

I’ve used parchment (before I realized that the transcript on the common app counts as an official transcript) and the transcripts arrived fine. Maybe the colleges haven’t received it yet, but will get it in a few days? When did you send the transcripts?
