High Scores, Low Grades?

<p>How much can high standardized test scores cover for lower grades / weak ECs?
ex:</p>

<p>5 on 3/3 APs
800 on 2/2 SAT IIs
2400 on SAT I</p>

<p>Ranked 29/472
A-/B+ GPA</p>

<p>What if one has an a "non official" EC but is really passionate about it? Ex/ Someone loves to draw and is good at it but has never won any official art awards.</p>

<p>however, i have other things to supplement it... for example</p>

<p>violin playing with recognition
URM status (?)
excellent essays</p>

<p>ive got into 10/10 schools so far including one of my top choices vanderbilt university</p>

<p>my point is moot... GPA is not everything</p>
