Greetings :D:
My family rents and is starting to move around a lot; i'm probably going to move 2 or 3 times in high school. I'm fine with adapting socially and academically and whatnot, but I'm worried about ever becoming a club/team president, treasurer, or any other position.
I'm in my freshman year and I'm really into my school's speech and debate team. I got a small job on the executive board that I'm very thankful for and I know that if I go to the same school for all 4 years i could go to speech captain to vice and maybe even president because I'll be in it for all years, the team knows each other, and I'll get to know the coach.
However, I don't see this happening at all if I move every year or so, it'd be hard to get any position as a new face in the team and I'm really depending on speech and debate as my only extracurricular activity because I can't play any sports, drama, sports, or anything else i've heard of (except maybe ecological club? but my current school doesnt have one.)
Has anyone ever had this situation and how did they feel/what did they do? I'm pretty sure colleges love club vice president and etc., so I'm worried at how this will affect my "college-appeal," especially since i don't have anything else extra to lean on.

Thank you!

Why can’t you do other clubsZ? Drama isn’t all about being n stage, there are lighting people. Stage crew, costumes, etc and it’s an amazing way to connect with people as soon as you start a new school. Sports teams also need help, score keepers, managers, and the like

You also have the school library which is a constant, and other clubs that may not be the exact same, but close enough.

Titles are nice, but don’t make yourself nuts if you don’t have one. Admission people understand when a kid has move around a lot. If you get involved in a consistent way at each school, they will see that.

Also, look for something outside of school that wouls be in a variety of locations so you can connect in a new location, food banks, animal shelters, local parks volunteers, arts, whatever interest you

You will do fine, I know it can be hard, I went to a a new school pretty much every year. And doing stuff behind the scenes is really valuable and rewarding. My d did drama club behind the scenes and it was the best way to meet other kids really fast who were friendly, eager and excited

Thank you so much for the reply; you’re right about finding stuff around the community and library work sounds like a great idea! And yeah- i shouldn’t be so nuts about finding “status” for colleges.
I’m taking Drama I this year, the tech people and actors are very nice- I’ll try to find out more about that, thank you for your well-written reply ^_^.
