Highschool: Pot and Alcohol

Eh, I choose not to, it’s not my thing. I tend not to judge people who do though unless they indulge too often in it (or if they post pictures on facebook of them doing drugs, cause that’s just stupid). Also, I believe the side effects of pot are often overplayed.

Anything is fine in moderation, really.

Been offered both, don’t plan on ever doing them.

“let make acohol illegal again”…
Last time we did that, it gave rise to orgazines crimes… Mayors, Governors, Police officers, and even president hid their acohol. It was more harm than done last time we did that. No let start with something different let’s make cigarettes(smoking) illegal.

I was being sarcastic.

Me too, smoking is already illegal in some place.

Wow, this logic is beyond ■■■■■■■■. Firstly, there are many nations that are on the rise that tolerate marijuana use for cultural reasons. Namely, India. Even though it may not be attaining the high GDP growth values of Singapore, it is still increasing. In fact, it was by 8.5% last year.

Marijuana does NOT make people useless, and you must live an extremely sheltered life if you think this.

Touche

10chars

“Yea, but high people are useless and the popularization of getting high just leads everyone to seek out an MTV lifestyle”

That may be one of the stupidest statements of all time.

Ha thanks for the backup everyone

A substance can’t “do” anything to a person, I mean besides health stuff. It can’t “make” anybody a bad person, or useless. Sure maybe some not so great people smoke weed, but those exact people weren’t going to be so great anyway, whether they smoked weed or not, so drugs didn’t ruin them. Saying people who smoke weed are useless was an unfit statement. I think the connection between seeking out the MTV lifestyle and weed was something true a long time ago, but not anymore. Actually, more motivated people seem to be using to burn of all the stress. But you do have a point on the Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea thing. Never really noticed that.

In terms of drinking age, what does everyone think about the drinking age being lowered to 18 (as pretty much every other first-world country has it) but we keep the zero tolerance laws that will remove driving privileges from any person under the age of 21 with any alcohol in their system. So, you can drink if you’re over 18 but you can’t drive after until you’re over 21…

Do you think this is a stupid idea or do you think this should be made law?

As far as both pot and alcohol go, I do not indulge in them because first of all, it is illegal to and second, I prefer to be in complete control of my actions…

You say this as someone who has never experienced being high/drunk, so I don’t really feel like you can say this accurately. I have never been high, but I can safely say tat you are in control of your actions when you are high. Also, unless you are completely-wasted-out-of-your-mind-about-to-pass-out drunk, you are in control of your actions as well.

I agree with @dfree: unless you are completely, one hundred percent, irreversibly wasted that night, you are still very much in control of your actions. On the night of my homecoming, I indulged a little (…a lot…) too much, and I still remember everything that went on that night and do not regret any of it.

Now, keep in mind that I am still a 4.0 student with college acceptance, focus, and the rank of number two in my class.

Unless you have been there, you truly do not know the feeling. Those “drunk goggles” the Drug and Alcohol Commission bring in are nothing in comparison.

And, why would you let ANYBODY drive under an influence? So many people have been killed due to drunk driving accidents! Just because you’re over the age of twenty one does not make any difference at all.

Given, some people are better drunk drivers than others, but it’s still extremely dangerous to one’s (and everyone’s on the road) health.

And Im not saying you should become a drinker/smoker, but you should be familiar with these things.

Sorry, has anybody on this thread actually smoked before?

Yes 10char

Others???

Thanks for the support, and I sooo agree that those things are crap. Fun to play around in though.

@Wiz, very much so. By the looks of your screen name, I’m assuming you do too.
