The Hill School goes out of their way to congratulate me on getting in as a junior, as to how hard it is, their coach congratulates me, etc. immediately after getting in. I am expecting about 2/3 aid, slightly less is obviously fine.

@TheHillSchool are you actually kidding me? And they have the audacity to say “after careful consideration, we were not able to offer you financial aid. However, we would love for you to still join us” like rofl. What a joke, this system.
Schools do handle financial aid applications very differently. It sounds like Hill is hoping you to come up with the money maybe with the help of a rich aunt! 
Don’t get fretted. What about other schools? If you need significant FA, you should’ve applied to a great number of schools and I hope you did.
I didn’t have the time to, I started the process days before it ended. Now there is absolutely no legitimate chance that I can go.
When you said you were expecting 2/3 aid, was this based on the PFS? If so it’s really a guide for the school and they can decide to give you whatever they want based on their priorities. I know it’s not great but that’s the way it works.
Sorry you didn’t get any FA, we also applied to Hill as a junior and got rejected, but got accepted at another school with no FA so we are in the same boat.
