First off, I am a first generation hispanic. I am going to a community college in Florida right now and I am pursuing an Economics degree. I am taking honors classes, in Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Society), and currently have a 3.8. Also I am low-income (less than 20K). I was just wondering if I have a chance of attending a top school (possibly top 25) and get scholarships for it. I know there are a lot of programs out there to assist minorities but do I really have an advantage (affirmative action)? I hear people too often talk about how if you go to a community college you should not get your hopes up. I understand that and that is totally ok. I am just curious to hear from other people based on my "credentials" what my chances are. No need to sugar coat. I'm just curious.
