Hey everyone, I am planning on applying to UCSD (among other schools, but UCSD is one of my top choices) this November as a transfer student from a community college as a history major. But. . . I feel like I haven't done enough research on UCSD's history program to feel confident that this would be a good place for me. Are any of you history majors, or know if UCSD is a good university for majoring in history? Thanks for the help.

Anyone? Even someone who just knows a history major at UCSD could help me out a bit.

I’m pretty interested in this too! I’m a history major as well.

I remember a few months ago I searched “Colleges with best history majors” and found a pretty long list of college, and UCSD was on that list. I also know that 50% of UCSD undergrads are social science majors, so know that not everyone is a premed Bio major, and the other majors are reputable, as well. :)

Well I have a history minor and can tell you that the professors in the history department are super smart AND can actually teach, based on my experiences. I have never had a hard time talking to them about the subjects they are most passionate about, and really enjoy the classes offered. Go to the website and see the list of those to get a feel for the kind of focuses of the faculty and see if it piques your interest.

Thanks for the help!
