I have a fairly good handle of the essays (I usually make 7's consistently, sometimes 6's and sometimes 8's), but I always bomb the multiple choice. My teacher gave us a practice multiple choice test the other day and I got 29/50 right, which she says is a below-par multiple choice score. Assuming I get an average score of 7's on my essays, what multiple choice score do I need to shoot for to get at least a 4 on the exam?

well generally to get a 4 u need between a total of 93 and 107 points. if you are getting all 7s on your essays, thats a total of 64.1676 points, so you need a minimum of 29 points on the multiple choice, which is 35 right if you don't skip any.

Ouch .. really? I'm screwed then ... My essays have never been higher than a 6. Then again, no one in AP english lang at our school has gotten above a 7 yet this year, so I hope my teacher just grades harder than others. And I usually get 2/3 correct on the multiple choice ... so .. 4 is a stretch?

Its ok...

We have a new AP English Lang teacher who is absolutly HORRIBLE. She cant spell "paralellism" correctly on the board and thinks that we can simply drop rhetorical strategy terms into our essay to gain points. I have won writing contests before and she gave me an F on my first essay for her class. I can not stand this woman. She is an idiot and I question how she gets around in the world. My writing as actually deteriorated since I have had her as a teacher. I am merely praying for the test. Anyways, don't feel discouraged; at least you had a fighting chance at passing. Hopefully I wont have to explain to colleges why I got a 3 or 2 on the exam.
