AP English Language Curve

Right now I am really in the dark with the AP English Language exam and what the curve is to get a Five. For all my other APS , I know certian percentages and estimations that constitute a Five. But for English, I have no idea what gets a Five. DO you need straight 9's on your Essays (Three essays are scored on a scale from 1-9)? Or is a 7 average good enough? 8?

Anyone have rough estimations as to what gets a Five?

Yes...hahahaha I sit at home and calculate exactly how low of a score you can get on each section and still get a 5.

^not really, but I had to do this for my midterm to save my grade.

For English Language, you really don't have to do much.
36/55 for multiple choice, and straight 6s on essays to get a five. In other words, rock the essays and you're good (~108 to 150 for a 5)

and how do you know this?

We've been using the PR study guide, so the scale is coming from that. No guarantees, but 108-150 sounds reasonable.

If you get 55/55 on your MC, what is the minimum essay score to get a 5?
If you get 9s on all your essays (yeah…not gonna happen) what is your minimum MC score to get a 5?
Just curious.

Keshira:
~12 raw points on the essay section.

and ~20/55 MC raw points.

according to the chart in my CliffNotes book.

The curve is really generous, yet I’m still going to get a 0. Really bad teacher, haha.

okay we did a mock in class, and I got 48/54 MC correct, and 7, 6, 6 for essays. That got me a 5.

i got 43/54 where does tht put me for the essays?

if you get like a 45 on the MC and 7’s on the essays that will do it
