Hmm I didn't get a single scholarship I applied to.

And the letter I got today asking me to report scholarships I received made my heart sink.

=/

Anyone with no scholarships to list to Princeton?

Well, you're already getting better financial aid than you would have gotten anywhere else (except Cooper Union and similar schools), so scholarships would just lower the "Princeton Grant" part of your award, methinks. You don't gain or lose any money by getting scholarships - Princeton subtracts their value from the financial aid award...

...Which is kind of a bummer since I hoped I'd be able to use any surplus money on a laptop or somesuch this summer.

Princeton takes outside scholarship money off of the Family Contribution...not off of the financial aid award. :)

how do we apply for scholarships, and what scholarships do people apply for? Are these available for internationals?

try FastWeb: Scholarships, Financial Aid and Colleges
they have thousands of scholarships listed that you can apply for.

also, just look in local newspapers for some as well.

wow, thanks!

I didn't get any of the scholarships I applied for either. I'm surprised, to be honest--I expected to get the Hispanic scholarship, as a counselor told me she could not see me not getting it. I find it interesting that someone else going to Princeton didn't get any they applied for either.

Maybe they knew about Princeton's financial aid or they considered need more than anything else. I can't complain, though: Princeton's financial aid was phenomenal. I just wanted to make working during the school year an option rather than a requirement :)

^That's true.

Yeah like, I didn't get the Korean American Club one (10 people get it). UM, what?!

Haha. My friend who's going to Duke too.
