hey. I was just wondering if anyone knew which schools in cornell are the hardest to get into...I'm not sure if there r other threads for this, but i read people talking about how different schools within cornell are harder... If you wouldn't mind, can u tell me like the ranking order (in ur perspective...i'm not sure if there is an exact order)... thanks.

hotel and aap are probably the hardest, because the class sizes are so small, especially in aap's architecture major (60 out of over 900 per year)

i read somewhere on CC that the AEM major at CALS accepts only 96 students per year. is that true?? if so...i think i should reconsider applying or not.

what abt arts and sciences?

I believe CAS had the lowest admissions rate, while Engineering usually has the highest, while also having the highest stats of accepted students. This is probably due to self-selection: that is, engineering applicants are more qualified on average than other applicants. So, one could make an argument that those two are the most difficult to get into. I believe the easiest are probably CALS and the Ecology one (names escapes me at the moment). From what I've heard it's actually not horribly difficult to get into the Hotel school and I personally know of one Cornell student who is in the architecture school and let's just say she has less than stellar stats...honestly no one really knows how she got in.

^^probably her portfolio. but people on cc cant understand that arch students generally need higher stats becuase they are competing for less spots, so admissions only takes the top students
