Hoedown?

I have an extremely silly question for you. I probably should know the answer to it since I've already completed my first year at Michigan, but I don't. However, I do have my suspicions as to what the answer is.

All right... I went online to print out an unofficial copy of my transcript for the renewal of one of my scholarships and will also have an official copy sent ASAP. (I didn't notice anything unusual earlier in the summer when I sent out transcripts for another renewable scholarship that I have and while I was checking my grades after the term ended. Apparently, I was being more observant this time. Sheesh! I'm losing my touch!) I noticed that after all of my grades and whatnot were listed, there was a little section by my progress within LSA and previous academic history labeled "Honors: non-degree/University Honors" as of blah date. I normally wouldn't think much of seeing this, and I know that I did well during my freshman year. However, the term "honors" has me slightly confused as I'm not in the official Honors Porgram. So... What is this? Thanks for the help! (I now give you full permission to laugh at me. :))

does it say anything about dean's list or branstrom prize?

it's prob something related to dean's list.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking: Michigan speak for Dean's List or something along those lines. However, it doesn't say anything about that nor the Branstrom Prize, and I haven't gotten anything in the mail.

This is all it states:

"Honors,Non-Degree:

04/27/2006 University Honors"

I wouldn't have even noticed it if I hadn't looked towards the end of my transcript.

Yeah, the list at the end is the awards given to you by the university. Similar to "honor roll" in high school. (congrats by the way!)

Thanks samwise! I learn something nenw every day (and in this case, it was a good thing). :)

Ah, so it isn't about being in the honors program?

I don't know what it signifies. However, it looks good, so congrats!
