<p>So next year I am transferring to either Hofstra of Adelphi because I want to be closer to home. I am at RIT right now for engineering technology but I decided I really don't want to do engineering anymore. </p>

<p>Hofstra has a better reputation. Have you applied to both and visited both? While I have never been to Adelphi, my D takes a class at Hofstra on Saturdays and so we have been spending time at the school and eating in the cafeteria there. It is a very appealing school.</p>
<p>I applied to both but I haven't visited Hofstra. But are within minutes from my house. So visiting is not a problem.</p>

<p>I don't know Adelphi, but have visited Hofstra. My impression was that they really emphasized the relationships they had built with Manhattan companies and opportunities that provided for students in business/engineering, etc.</p>
<p>I agree with LilyMoon that it is an appealing school in many ways. I think it might have such a high % of New York metro area students that this could be a bit of a turn-off for students from elsewhere, but that was the only thing that gave me any pause at all. Lovely campus.</p>
