Michigan state said they want my most current grades for the final decision; i got a 26 act and 3.5 gpa but my gpa for the first quarter for senior year was a 3.3. I am really worried.
oh and my major i put was business if that may impact it
i got the same letter im pretty worried too, i had 10 ap and honors, 3.5, 27, captain of robotics team which won the state championship, NHS, 50+ volunteering hours, student council. Im pretty upset because i worked pretty hard and they are accepting people with 24s, 1 extracurricular with less ap and honors classes
They may not necessarily want your grades to increase - just not decrease too much either. Does your 3.5 have a lot of more fluffier type of classes? They might just want to see how you can deal with your current workload.
no i took pretty hard classes all throughout high school, a year ahead in math and AP’s…i just rlly worried like i know people who got in with 3.3 and 21…does the major have anything to do with it?
if my first quarter grades arent good enough will they want to see the end of semester grades?
@singh2206 the major doesn’t have anything to do with it because as a freshman you are not technically part of the Broad College of Business, you have to apply after your first or second year. All MSU applicants are given equal consideration regarding their major, with a few exceptions. I’m guessing that you are part of a large bubble. I say a large bubble because I think your grades are fairly common among MSU applicants and they are trying to see who they want out of the applicants in that pack.
@3mamagirls if you were asking about my 3.5 with fluffier classes, prolly not i took 4 years science, 4 years math (2 math classes this year), 4 years english, 4 years social studies, 3 years spanish, i took ap computer scinece junior year, gym and health requirment freshman year, this year i laid back and wanted a year of study hall but i couldnt take it because i had to get an art credit for graduation. Thats what i get for not taking blowoff classes eh?
@singh2206 i showed my counselor the letter and he said he had no idea what it meant
