Holy crap! I got in!!!!

I got in!!!

Just checked the mailbox and I saw a big fat envelope and I just screamed. I had just sent my transcript/counselor stuff monday, so I am shocked that my stuff was mailed there, then reviewed, then mailed back in less than a week. O well, I have checked and it’s not a mistake! I never expected to be so happy, but I guess everyone feels this special when accepted somewhere. Plus, this was by no means a safety school, so yay for me. Can anyone tell me what the University of Wisconsin mascot is??

And has anyone else heard back yet from a rolling admissions place? Share your joy in knowing that you are at least going somewhere!

Congratulations!

YAY!!! Congrats!!! Big ups to You for getting in!!!

congrats!!!

Congrats (well I said that on the other board to, but herre's another) on your achievement

Congrats. That must be exciting and a huge relief. Enjoy it and good luck next year!

Congrats, I'm applying there too. Do you mind if i ask your stats and what major you applied under? Thanks!

Sure! On my acceptance letter, it said that I was accepted to The College of Letters and Sciences. My prospective major is International Studies, but it didn't mention that on my acceptance letter.

I am from Georgia (which is great for geographic diversity). They mentioned that all the U.S. states and territories are represented there, so maybe I was the token person from GA.

My stats are:

3.96 UW GPA
Ranked 19 out of 434
My SAT sucks: 1190 600V 590M
ACT: 28
Forgot to do teacher rec(optional)
Took rigorous courseload(5 APs by graduation, an IB class, Calculus, French VI, several classes at a local college).
My ECs were OK: President of NHS, on tennis team, blah blah blah

So yeah, you probably have a really good chance if I got in. Good luck! I just bought a Wisconsin T-shirt.

I would say U of W was pretty much a safety for you. You have an extremely good gpa, 5 APs, and an ACT in their 25-75%.

But anyways, congrats!

Great school in great town.. More international programs and languages than anyone. Nice smart kids, GREAT football team, best campus around.

CONGRATS. hey, how many essays does UW-madison require? and also how tough it it for out of staters (ohio)?
thanks

Well, sounds like you've already heard this, but...congrats! :)

The UW mascot is the badger.

Dude, it's rolling admissions? I applied last week, when will I hear?

Congrats- I know that a hughe weight has probably been lifted that no matter how the rest of the process plays out, that you have been accepted to a school which you are happy attending

Wow! Congratulations Hoo! I want to know if you applied through Early decision? and it's wisconsin-madison that you got in to, right?

Yes, it's UW-Madison. There is no ED or EA, it's just regular rolling admissions. So, it is not binding. I applied online a month ago, and sent my ACT score 2 weeks ago. However, my supporting credentials, transcript, and counselor form was not mailed until monday(I had it in my hands this monday at the counselor's office). Monday was Columbus Day(mail didn't run), so it would have had to have traveled from GA to Wisconsin, then reviewed by the adcoms, then mailed back in less than 5 days. It is kind of incredible. I was in complete shock to see it back already. I wouldn't worry, though, I think that I just got lucky or something.

Go Badgers!!!UW rocks my world! I want to visit so badly now. And I would be so happy attending.

wow Hoo, can i talk to you about it? I need to ask you some questions regarding the application. I wonder if you have AOL or msn?

Congrats!!! I wish the schools I applied to were rolling.
