Holy moley, I didn't realize the costs?

I applied here and just started doing more research about it. I looked at this: http://www.pomona.edu/administration/financial-aid/forms/12-13-affordable-excellence.pdf

Cal Poly Pomona:
Tuition $39,572
Fees $311
Room and Board $13,227
Books $900
Personal Expenses $1,150
Total $55,160

So, I don’t know a lot about how this money business of financial aid works because I’ve never received it before since I’m a transfer student. Could someone maybe ballpark my estimated costs if I were to get admitted into this university? My parents will make 100-102K something this year combined and because my dad is a disabled veteran the tuition is entirely paid for. So, I’d be left with 15,588 left. I will have to apply for financial aid because I was under the impression I would need to take out loans just as my sister has for CSU San Bernandino and am also applying to other schools. For the bracket I’m in, it says that the average financial aid package is $36,700?

The price sheet you are looking at is for Pomona college (a private school), not Cal Poly Pomona. Cal Poly Pomona is similar (but not exactly) in cost to CSU SB. Tuition around $5500, R&M around $11000.

That’s tuition at Pomona College, a private, liberal-arts in the city of Claremont, California.

You applied to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), a public, polytechnic university in the city of Pomona, California.

Yearly costs at Cal Poly Pomona–including tuition, room and board, transportation ,books, etc–are estimated at less than $20,000.
Phew. Thanks for clearing that up. It was late at night and I guess I didn’t realize.
