So I'm a violinist, and I had a recording prepared to send in by the Dec. 1 deadline for arts supplement. But I just went online and realized that for my submission to be reviewed I have to send in my common application and Stanford supplement (three 250-word essays, which I'm sure you all know) by the Dec. 1 deadline as well. I haven't started any of the supplement essays and I still have to edit my common app essay. Right now it's 10:07pm on November 28 and I'm definitely not going to start today, which means I have tomorrow and Nov. 30 to write and edit everything to perfection. GAHHH. Stanford is my first choice too... do y'all think I should try to get it in by the deadline or just wait a month till Jan. 1 to polish my essays? Violin is a big part of my application so I thought a recording would be helpful but now I might not send one in.. any feedback or advice would be much appreciated <3

Calm down, it will either get done or it doesn’t. Your time is probably better spent writing reflective, insightful and personal essays for the Stanford supplement than to rush all the material for your own musical/art supplement. Don’t compromise the quality of these three important literature for your violin recording, because it’s likely that your writing and story should get you in than your music. You still have until late December. Best of luck.

I agree with topramennbaklava. The art supplement would help a bit, but rushed essays that are not up to your full potential will hinder you even more.

Try to do the Stanford essays and if you cannot get them to the level you want them to be by December 1st, just submit the application on January 1st.
