Holy *****!

We deserved to lose this game. I cannot believe how badly we played. Our team must know by now that every team that plays Michigan is going to bring its A game, even the likes of Appalachian State and Akron. We completely underestimated them and came out flat. How do we almost lose to a team that has only won 4 games since 2010?

Section 31, Row A. I would of been front row to what could of been considered one of the worst upsets in CFB history.

Special teams, Running, Passing, 3rd downs, penalties, etc. I don’t know who showed up last week, but this week must of been impostors. I can’t explain it.

If we would of lost, I’d put it above the horror in terms of upset-ness. We beat a ranked team convincingly already, we had high season expectations. The loss would of been to a team which has only like 1 FBS win in 4 years.

I was joking in the GA line about how this game would be infamy if we lost. I wouldn’t of been joking had I known how foreshadowing my joke was.

I don’t envy the team come Monday.

We lost anyway. Our younger players missed very valuable game time today. Guys like Morris, Green, Smith etc… were supposed to play most of the second half. What a disaster.

I agree romanigypsyeyes, our team is going to get its butt chewed on Monday, and deservingly so. I am very disappointed/concerned with Toussaint. He has averaged 70 yards per game (under 3.5 yards per carry). I understand a poor performance against Notre Dame, burt against CMU and Akron, Toussaint was supposed to rush well over 100 yards and average better than 5 yards per carry.

Hopefully, we can do better against Connecticut. It is our first road game, so we had better be prepared.

I didn’t get to watch the game. Listened to the last ten minutes in the car and TiVoed the rest. Guess there’s really no point in watching.

Well, Texas can sympathize with you guys! Sigh.

Noooo… Is Bama winning now? Nooooo!!!

No, Bama and TAMU are tied at 14. I think MaineLonghorn was referring to UT-Austin. They are off to a slow start this season.

Oops sorry. I despise Bama so that’s where my mind is (and Bama just intercepted)

While I do not like Alabama, I cannot stand Johnny Football. What an arrogant and immature delinquent. I hope Bama spanks him!

Alabama is just playing at a whole different level than everyone else. Even good teams like TAMU are going to get beaten badly this year. In the meantime, Michigan has got a long way to get go to be considered an elite program again. While today was hopefully an abomination, nevertheless this team will lose at least 4 games this year.

“Holy *****!”

I think you meant, Holy ****! ;-)

That’s fair, Alex- and I’m with you. Can’t stand him either. My dislike of Bama as an organization just trumps my dislike of an individual player.

“While today was hopefully an abomination, nevertheless this team will lose at least 4 games this year.”

At least 4 games? Are you serious? Michigan had one bad game. Calm down. I expect Gardner will play more like he did against Notre Dame throughout the season.

More importantly, what 4 teams are going to beat Michigan?

I guess I was in a panic mode earlier today. Let’s see how they play in the weeks ahead.

I was there…glad Michigan won. They played horribly.

There were instances when Gardner would throw the ball, and the announcer would have no idea who the intended receiver was. No Michigan player was even close. I just don’t understand how some these plays went so bad. Was Gardner injured and on heavy painkillers? For the players to be mentally off their game this much is, to a major degree, is the coaches fault…even though the seniors may have tried to take the blame. I wish I understood…

Thank goodness they squeaked by. It would have been difficult to explain how the team could have been beaten by a team called the Zips. Holy s***! indeed.

Yes, whenever you struggle mightily against a team that has a zipper on its helmet, you know you are in big trouble.

rjk, a 4-loss season may well be in the works is the team has more games like yesterday. Akron is the weakest team we’ll play this year. Heck, 6 of our remaining games are against teams that would beat Akron by 30 or more points. Hopefully, this was an aberration.

I agree Jack. The players clearly missed assignments, but a large part of the blame should go to the OC. Coaching has much to do with our problems.

It’s tough to win when you turn the ball over 4 times, no matter who the opponent is. Just some really bad decisions and carelessness with the football by Devin Gardner, only partially made up by his 248 yards passing and some brilliant runs.

I’m not sure you can fault Fitz Toussaint for the anemic power running game. It seems to me when there’s a hole he hits it and makes a nice gain, and he’s terrific when he gets the ball in space on a short pass. But when he gets hit in the backfield or runs into a wall of big bodies for no gain, that’s on the O-line, not Fitz. The three interior linemen are all young players in their first year as starters, but at some point that’s no longer an acceptable excuse–especially against a team like Akron, which Michigan’s O-line should be able to manhandle. And some of it may be on the coaches. I keep expecting to see Fitz running behind Taylor Lewan at left tackle who is a road-grader, but that happens only now and then.

Defense also needs a lot of work. They gave up 418 yards including 311 passing to a very bad football team. Nice goal-line stand at the end, though.

The team party must be real good last night…
