... you just messed up so many things for us and the Big Ten

lol bret bilemma - let’s call time outs on early downs when the other team’s driving with less than a minute to go in the game

I thought that fluke last play was way too close to overturn though. There was no camera angle that clearly shows the ball breaking the plane, just that moo u guy’s body.

Indeed PurpleDuckMan… But we certainly earned it with a huge ‘W’ on our schedule!!! I knew that there is no way in hell that we could win this game if we give up 124-yd due to penalties as we did against Michigan last week. I really thought that we were going to go OT with this powerful Wisconsin team. This was without a doubt, an instant classic, right down to the wire with the Hail Mary Pass!! In short, give credits to the Badgers, the Spartans certainly looking forward to meet them again in the inaugural B1G Champion Game. Go State!! lol

btw did anyone notice spartanbob operating the clock on their last drive?

I don’t know bearcats, I thought the ball clearly passed the goal line… as much as I didn’t want to see it, I did

I saw the moo u body crossing the goal line, but the camera angle clearly didnt show the ball, so not that indisputable to overturn a call.

^same all it had to do was cross the line, and I think it did

so now the Big Ten champion won’t get to the NCG over a the Big 12 champ (assuming that champ is undefeated)

oh not that i dont think it did, i just think it wasnt indisputable because it doesnt show the ball. Overturning a call needs indisputable evidence.

They showed a still of the replay at the end, they blew up the image of the ball in the WRs arm (so you could see it) and it looked like it was crossing the line

I agree with bearcats on the indisputable evidence - I was suprised they overturned the call even though I think he barely got in when he twisted himself towards the goal line.

I think Spartan Bob retired. If he were still there, they would have thrown a shorter pass to set up the winning field goal with 00:01 left on the clock.

We’re in danger of sour grapes here… according the the rules, a part of the ball has to cross the front of the white goal line. According to the video replay, it clearly did. Was it close - yes. Was it in - yes. Did MSU win the game - yes. Wisconsin isn’t complaining about the end of the game - no one else should, either.

^ Wisconsin

^ Sorry ignore that. Phone flipped out.

If Wisconsin fans aren’t complaining, then that’s new because last night there were quite a lot of complaints. Couldn’t watch the game, but I saw the after game chatter.

no sour grapes here - just surprise that a play that close would be overturned by a replay official. I thought it was more likely he crossed but would hesitate to say it was indisputable.

If Nebraska beats MSU, and then MSU, Nebraksa, and us win out there will be a 3 way tie and I believe we get in being 11-1 :)

LOL! PM, Michigan is much improved, but we are a couple of years away from finishing 11-1. It could happen of course, but it is unlikely. I would be happy with an 8-4 or 9-3 finish this year and next year given our road games. But 2013…lookout!

Good, I hope we field a great team my Sr. year.

The year after will be Braxton Miller vs Devin Garnder… awe sheeeeeeet

“according the the rules, a part of the ball has to cross the front of the white goal line.”

MichMom07 is right! :)

Although I don’t even think this screen cap is the best example of the play, here’s a screen cap that shows, indisputably, that the ball crossed the plane and Keith Nichol did indeed score a touchdown. The combined momentum of Nichol swinging to the goal line hasn’t even peaked in this frame. It’s a half second later. When watching the replay, when Taylor goes to swing him around and out, at that time Nichol is easily past the goal line. I am also certain that the refs were provided with sophisticated play-review camera equipment in order to make that final game winning call.

yeah he definitely got in

and then MSU ruined everything

“and then MSU ruined everything”

Unfortunately, that is also true… Given the opportunity, I believe Michigan would have done the same, no? Anyhow, to make up for B1G’s presence on big stage, please support the Spartans and our men and women in uniform in Carrier Classic on 11/11/2011 against the Tar Heels!! The President will be on board the ship and the game will be nationally televised. State is the underdog… but we shall see!! In Izzo we trust!! Go Green!! lol
