I intern at Goldman this summer....best investment bank..all cornell harvard princeton yale..1 duke kid...this kid sucks

I will try to dumb down my vocabulary in order to acquiesce (Oh snap!) to your standards. First of all, sports684, you are a ****in idiot. I will say this outright this time because kindness does not work for people like you. I can hardly spot one sentence from you that carries no grammatical mistake or lapse in coherence. This vicious ad hominem crap must end. You are a complete and utter tool if you actually believe a Cornell degree carries more weight than a Duke one. Which ranking or grad placement data sheet should I consult in order to elucidate (OMG another one...lemme use the words "make that clear of") that. I know people who turn Cornell down for Vanderbilt and EVERY SINGLE person at my school who got into Cornell turned it down. There were around 25 of us. Some even turned it down for the University of Texas at Austin.

"why use big words on this board, we all ahd amaing sat scorese and writing"

Somehow I doubt your writing score was up to par.

"I intern at Goldman this summer....best investment bank..all cornell harvard princeton yale..1 duke kid...this kid sucks"

Is this a sentence? If so...I must remind you that Goldman Sachs and Merril Lynch absolutely love Dukies and you are too naive to realize how fatuous (oh crap...did it again) your remarks are.

"devil may cry is a pseudo-intellectual, and by the way.. i have like three kids in my fraternity that turned down duke for cornell, cornell holds better reputation and its an indisputable fact..except US NEWS which you stand behind for everything"

A pseudo=intellectual? Do you honestly write like this in real life. Your english teacher must have practically pleaded with you to drop out of AP. You have 3 kids in your fraternity that can attest to that? Wow...I have tens..yes tens upon tens of people who did not take a second glance at their Cornell acceptance letter. Only Usnews? EVERY SINGLE RANKING OUT HAS DUKE AHEAD. Those LondonTimes rankings factor in international repuation...who cares?

Collegekid, you are regretful that you turned down Cornell for Duke. If sports684 is going to be your fellow classmen, I don't blame you. Start looking at those gorges.

Sports684 - "He who screams the loudest doubts himself the most" :)

Comeon Sports....we're all waiting here. I would hate to see the reputation of Cornell on cc slightly lower to Duke's because you (who partially represent Cornell's student body - at least on college conf.) can't argue worth a dime to this Duke guy (who partially represents Duke on CC).

I truly hope that not all Cornelians are at loss to words like you Sports. They are supposed to be extremely intellectual students.

Prove the Cornell heritage. Show this Duke kid - through your words and ability to write eloquently - that Devil May Cry does not have the upper hand on you.

And Sports684's comeback is..............

how much you guys want to bet devil may cry didn't get into cornell...id be willing to bet a ton on this, why is he hear so much..can anyone provide me with some rationale here...why would he be here so much bashing our school..why would he even care about it..oh wait lets think..key deduction, he probably didn't get in...i know kids this year who didn get into cornell and not duke..its not like its a shocker..duke is not in same league as harvard believe me

im sorry ..here..i have ato worry bout grammer with u...i dont need to impress these people..this is dumb man..u didnt get into cornell just face it ..im done arguing about this goodbye

sorry i mean got into duke and not cornell.its not like thats so unusual it happens all the time...ur kidding urself if u think duke is a step above cornell it is the same caliber..go back to your board..you are always here..i know people agree with me that this is tarting to make sense...he just didn't get into cornell and how does he make himself feel better...he is here all the time bashing us...i can think of no other reason

score one for peter

It doesn't even matter whether he got in or not. He ultimately decided to go to Duke. 1 month before he goes to college he is spending his time arguing with people on the Cornell board????!!!

People post on the Cornell forum because they want either advice from current Cornell students or at least some ethusiasm about the school. What they don't expect are some Duke trolls, most of whom never even applied to Cornell.

exactly lets have a little cornell support here and get this kid off of our board......he posts more here than anywhere else..this is hysterical...wow..it makes perfect sense now why he is here so much..get off of our board....ill see you working for me one day big man

Honestly, I like Cornell a LOT better than Duke.

But the difference between the way Devil May Cry writes and Sports writes is pretty scary.

I'm surprised that Sports made it Cornell with his 3 year old writing ability; let alone made it into any college.

I truly hope that Sports isn't representative of the average Cornelian.

Sports,

If you want to demonstrate to me that Cornell is indeed better than Duke, than prove this to me not by screaming and shouting insults. Show this to me by arguing coherently through your writing. I understand that cc isn't a big deal but sometimes; members of certain colleges represent partially represent themselves on cc. This is especially true if they are posting many a time.

wowwwwwwwwwwww, why didnt ya tell me to put on my flame-resistant suit before i opened up this lovely little treasure of a thread?

well guys, i think the lesson we can all take away from this charming collection of repartee is that no matter the prestige of your school, there will always be those people who obsess over things that don't matter and who, in the end, really just don't have a clue.

this is dumb..im not getting graded on this..do i need to write coherently here...i type like i type on aol, when it matters i worry about typing, this is dumb.....how somoene types on aol is certainly not indicative of their abilities in the classroom, believe me

I personally think all of these duke vs. cornell threads reflect poorly on the students of both schools.

DUKE SUCKS! People only go to Duke because its preppy, and filled with future rich people who live in the burbs. It has no intellectual atmosphere; people just talk about the fancy things they'll do when they get the jobs which they don't deserve because they have an inflated degree. AND hockey is way more exciting than basketball (cmon, how many fights are there in Bball (that don't involve Ron Artest)).

All that being said, DMC got into Cornell, so your bet is pretty stupid. And do most of your fellow frat-brothers possess your typing skill? (its pretty easy to type normally)

give me some concrete evidence that he got into Cornell - he posted it on college confidential, I am sure no one lies on College Confidential, everyone here is completely honest right???, regardless I am sorry I am ending this convo, I just beg all of you to consider this manls motives, they don't add up

Well, the only evidence I need that he got into Cornell is that he got into Duke...

Its just that most people who get into Duke that apply to Cornell get in there. I would know (at least for A and S).

you are right though, there are some blatant trollers on these boards, I personally like them lol

OMG who CARES!??!?!?!?! Why do you people need self-validation from people you don't know on a silly website, about your school?!END THIS MADNESS!

"ill see you working for me one day big man"
It definitely won't be in an English class.

"he posts more here than anywhere else"

Uhm...no i don't. I just get exacerbated by idiotic people such as yourself who don't know where spell check is on Microsoft Word.

"People post on the Cornell forum because they want either advice from current Cornell students or at least some ethusiasm about the school. "

Has this thread accomplished any of these aforementioned "goals?" In fact, you are only perpetuating this asinine discussion by posting here.
"
"What they don't expect are some Duke trolls, most of whom never even applied to Cornell."

I won't comment on the latter part of that insult for fear of attacking Cornell, a school I deeply respect. Moreover, check the first page again. I incessantly commended Cornell and even stooped low enough to compliment collegekid before sports684 came and got his five year old sister to write his posts.

"sorry i mean got into duke and not cornell.its not like thats so unusual it happens all the time...ur kidding urself if u think duke is a step above cornell it is the same caliber"

What? How many times in this thread have I said the same thing? When you personally attacked me, that is when I got on the offensive. May I also ask which school has the higher acceptance rate?

"im done arguing about this goodbye"
Yet, you continue to deride me. So much for finality.

"score one for peter"

At least capitalize your name. Maybe this style of writing your name symbolizes your ancillary position to almost everyone in this thread.

"i know kids this year who didn get into cornell and not duke..its not like its a shocker..duke is not in same league as harvard believe me"

Huh? Take the bib out of your mouth, so you can type posts clearer. I could care less who you know and I am well aware that Duke is no Harvard. I am also quite sure that most Dukies could care less about appeasing the ivy league by trying to equate them.

Oh..btw. I will give sports689 the liberty of a word bank this round.
