Honors Acceptance/Rejection Letters?

When do they usually arrive? Are they like rolling admission? I applied for Plan II during mid-December. I got accepted to McCombs in late December. When should I be expecting a letter from Honors?

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I received my acceptance package for Plan II today (February 12) in the mail. If you're interested in my timeline at all, I submitted my UT application on December 1, followed by the honors supplement around December 12.

So excited, though!

I applied around Nov. 25 and heard back from Plan II about a week and a half ago (the beginning of February. Still haven't heard back from either McCombs or the BHP there, so I'm kinda interested in /your/ timeline Texan09.

^ dangggggg it. I applied to UT by December 1st, but my honors app wasn't technically completed until January. I had everything in electronically by like December 8th, but I forgot to mail in my resume until the 15th. Plan II went on Christmas break for about 3 weeks, so they didn't process it until January. FML.

BleedingBlue, your post makes me sad, because now I probably won't hear for a couple of weeks :(

P.S. Anyone who applied in December heard from LAH yet?

I know my S was targeting Dec 15 as the date to get his honors application in by. I'm pretty sure he met that deadline and he did get accepted to LAH. He has not heard anything from Plan 2.

I have a question about the Plan II rejection letters. Are they very straightforward, saying that they regret to inform you blahblahblah? I received a letter that said I was accepted into the college of liberal arts, but I already knew that from my online status. So does that letter mean I was rejected from Plan II? Or should I be waiting for another letter?

^^You should be waiting for a separate Plan II letter. Plan II doesn’t post on the UT website.

Alright. Thanks!

What about for Natural Sciences Honors? Anyone apply for that? Everything was received for my application back at the end of November (the 21st to be specific), and I guess my getting into UT only 10 days ago explains the delay. But how much longer should I expect to wait before I hear a decision?

I also applied to Natural Science Honors the Health Science Honors, but I called to ask and they said at least by March 1st we’ll be notified, if I remember correctly.

gnguyen, you receive a separate letter. And yes, it is straightforward.

I applied to Natural Sciences honors (both dean’s and health sciences) as well and haven’t heard back yet. March 1st is in 2 days! The panic is starting to set in…do you think they mail out the rejection letters at the end?

Well they pushed back the date at which they send out applications for HSH because I called today and they said maybe by the end of next week. I mean even Texas A&M has already sent out decisions about their honors program, even though it was a rejection letter.

tennis101, you said that you applied to both HSH and DS, which I’m assuming you mean that you had listed “no preference” on the application. What happened with mine was that I had also listed “no preference”, but UT emailed me and literally asked me which I wanted between the two.

If it made any difference, I sent in my app 12/06/11 at 11:57 PM. Really bad on my part…

Applied for the Natural Science honors (I put no preference to DS or HSH, but I’m really looking forward to the DS one). Sent in my application 12/06, the extended deadline. I got accepted into UT late November. I haven’t heard a single word back from them. Even if I don’t get in, will they notify me with a rejection letter?

Yes, I put “no preference” on my application. That’s interesting…UT didn’t send me a similar email. In fact, I still haven’t heard back from UT about the Natural Science honors programs. This could be because I applied at the last minute as well. The only reason I applied to the honors programs was because I received an email that said that I would be a strong candidate. I have a feeling that I was rejected, but it would be nice if they could at least send me a letter.

I have the same question as justjensen then…will we be notified if we were rejected from DS and HSH?

I was accepted into the Health Science Honors programs and I went for an open house for the Natural Science honors at UT around February…I think they might be still handing out waves of acceptances, as people turn them down for Ivies and whatnot…But I do know we already had at least one wave of people checking it out. Hope that helps! Good luck to everyone that hasn’t heard yet! :)

I emailed UT and this is the reply I recieved

All honors decisions will be mailed out by the end of the week. Let me know if there are any other questions I can help you to answer.

Nothing about there being rejection letters specifically I asked that but they didn’t exactly answer so maybe it means that there are if not they could have just said that no rejections would be mailed but who knows.

Hey has anyone received any letters from UT Austin about Dean Scholars today because from what has been my past experience when they say end of the week it means that the letters would be arriving today Saturday where I live. So I was wondering if anyone has received anything even some rejection letters.

I just completely given up on getting into HSH and besides they won’t let me take my english credit since I scored a 3
