Can any current students or previous prospies who attended a program last year talk about their experience with Accepted Students’ Day? If you were accepted into the Honors Program, is it really helpful to attend the Honors Day or would I get enough information just going to the regular one? Thanks!

Hi,
I'm not a student but a parent - my son attended the Honors Overnight (don't know if they're doing that this year) and it sealed the deal for him in terms of AU. He found it to be very helpful and very well run. Also, it was, at least in his case, earlier than the general accepted students day so it helped in that way. in general, any event that is more focused and has fewer people will be more helpful, I think.
Hope that helps.

It does look interesting. I think getting to know other students in the honors program may be an important factor. I just wish I knew what other schools will accept D and when they will have their days so we can try to coordinate!

^ That's my problem, too. Plus, the honors day is so very early that is make it a little more difficult.

I know it's hard that it's early, but if you can swing it the timing can actually help. Once my S attended the honors overnight the other responses didn't matter. Also, he is still friends with people he met there and it helped on move in day to see familiar faces.

wait...what? i got accepted to the honors program but i have yet to hear about an honors accepted students day. when is it?

anyone know what time it's at?

in my son's case, in a previous year, he rec'd the invitation shortly after the admissions letter. If you haven't heard anything and want to know, you could try admissions or the honors dept.

It's april 4th at 10am for registration. It's on their honors section of their website

The honors invitation which my S received was for 4/17 and 4/18, not 4/4, with no starting time given. I emailed them to try and get specifics. Have not heard back yet.

maybe this is different than what you are talking about, though

Ours was for 4/17 and 18 also. There was a separate card in the folder that came with the admissions information. It says it is an overnight program for Presidential Scholars.

Come to the honors overnight on the 17th, you will most likely get to meet me, haha ;)
