Honors Admissions Process

I’m currently working on my UPitt application through Common App, and the way I understand it, I can choose not to apply to Pitt Honors yet, but rather to do so later through Pitt’s website. When I do this, which (if any) components of the application I submitted on Common App will be considered in the decision for Pitt Honors? (e.g. Grades/test scores, short essay questions for regular Pitt, activities/awards list, etc)

Hi! I am copying this from our site for your reference (OAFA.pitt.edu). This should give you some idea of what they look at!

The mission of Pitt Honors is to meet the academic and extracurricular needs of the University’s most academically talented, intellectually curious, and socially conscious undergraduate students. While there are no minimum academic requirements for consideration, admission to Pitt Honors is highly competitive. In recent years, the academic profile of a Pitt Honors freshman consisted of the following:

SAT score of 1490 or ACT composite score of 33
‘A’ average or 4.39 weighted GPA
Top 5% class rank (if applicable)
Participation in a challenging high school curriculum dominated by AP/IB/Honors courses
High level of participation in activities outside of the classroom

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
