Question about honors college and SAT scores after admission

I am applying to University of Pittsburg and I am currently thinking about taking another ACT or SAT because I want to meet the requirement of SAT (1450) or ACT(32) for the honors college. But will I be eligible if I get a score that meets the requirement after admission decision? And also I looked at the graduation requirements and it said that if a student got 600 on the SAT Verbal Exam, then student may be exempted from the Introductory Composition Course. I am wondering if a student has to get the 600 before entering college or has to have that score when submitting the application.

Thank you so much!

@exordinary, I am not entirely sure, but it would be a great question for our admissions processors/counselors: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

Best of luck!

I believe the SAT score now has to be above 1490 (new SAT), or ACT composite of 33.

But I definitely think that retaking would help. You can indicate that on your application.

^It also says on above page that you need 600 SAT on verbal section, and 5 on AP exam to be exempt from workshop in composition

You could talk to advising department, but I would think they would use the highest SAT verbal score and AP scores available at the time of scheduling freshman classes, which is in spring.

Sorry, I was wrong. The eligibility requirement for honors college is new SAT of 1450 or 32 ACT composite.

Thank you all very much! That was really helpful, I will call the admission to ask more about it.

:-j emailed today and also had a follow up question haha, and one thing sort of funny is that I submitted my application yesterday and I got a fee waiver today, should have waited for a day lol.
