My OOS daughter is in the same boat! Crossing fingers…
Found out yesterday DD received the Heritage Scholarship…
We also found out yesterday our son received the Heritage Scholarship. Still hoping for the honors college
My daughter was accepted in honor college - received the 10000 a year scholorship - no interview notification - out of state but has all the criteria for presidential - is there still a chance if no interview notification
Jackier , Did you receive the $10,000 a year scholarship the same day as the honors college acceptance? My son has received the $10,000 a year merit scholarship and has not heard anything about honors yet.
She applied early - believe all the letters came in October - we haven’t been home last week but hoping for some more mail -
@Jakier
I think it’s possible. Competitive scholarship decisions will be released in February, so there is still time.
Ok so even without interviews kids will be notified of those scholorships like presidential - confusing info on site
The presidential and singletary require an interview.
Thanks for the information very helpful
It sounds like most candidates for presidential and singletary have already been contacted for interviews. Does anyone know if they are done interviewing? I am wondering if that means no shot at either one if D hasn’t gotten asked for an interview.
That’s what I am thinking based on what I have read
There is no interview for the Presidential Scholarship.
That is not what my D was told. Maybe in years past that was true.
Where did you hear there are no interviews -
We visited UK this summer and met with the honors college . We were told that only Singletary candidates received interviews and there were no interviews for the Presidental . That was in August. So far my son has s KY Heritage Scholorship.
The info regarding interviews on the website is vague regarding the Presidential Scholarship.
That would be great least keeps us hopeful - know it’s competitive - but still hopeful
When my daughter was considering Kentucky two years ago, both Singletary and Presidential candidates were invited for interviews. She received her invite in October, but we knew of others that didn’t interview until January. They were either awarded one or the other, or in some cases neither. We found out in February in a letter through the mail. From my understanding, this year only Singletary candidates will interview. If you have the stats for Presidential, you are automatically considered for full tuition. This was confirmed by our admissions rep. Also, in 2015, my daughter did not receive notification of honors acceptance until mid January, so if things are the same this year, I imagine they are still reviewing applications. She was initially awarded the $10,000 scholarship that was later replaced with a competitive award. My son was accepted in November, received the $10,000 scholarship letter on 12/24 but still no notification of honors.
Thanks so much great information
