Honors and scholars dorms at Ohio State

I am wondering if someone can give my daughter and I an idea what the honors or scholars housing is like at Ohio State Columbus. Also, anyone been involved in the speech therapy program there? Would you recommend?

I can tell you alot about both actually, I am a 2nd Speech and Hearing Sciences Major and I am an Arts Scholar.

About the scholars program, it is a very rewarding experience! You get to meet new people and be involved in a lot of different events. As far as the housing I live in Baker Hall West (which is home to the Arts & Architecture Scholars). I love it here great location in terms of proximity to to High St, the Dining Halls, the Union, etc. And the people are realllly friendly .

Which scholars is your daughter joining? I can tell you specifically about that particular dorm then.

And the Speech & Hearing Sciences major here is very good. It’s competitive but its a great thing to be apart of I am specifically doing Audiology and am apart of National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
Once again, have any specific questions … feel free to ask!

Thank you so much for the quick answer. Sorry for being slow to respond. I really appreciate the help. My daughter is trying to decide between Ohio and Alabama. Quite a difference, I know.

I am currently a freshman in college at a 4 year institution and I have applied to Ohio State for the fall 2013 semester as a sophomore. I want to transfer to OSU extremely badly and will be devastated if I don’t get accepted (I’m very unhappy at my current University). The application materials are not due until March 1st, so I submitted my application in mid November to get it in as early as possible. I currently have a 2.74 GPA for first semester. I know this is low and i’m planning on getting it higher next semester before I would be entering a new schools. However, my high school grades were good. I was on the honor roll all of senior year and had a 3.2 GPA. I also had a 1080/1600 on my SAT (not the highest but not bad either). I am also out of state. OSU’s high acceptance rate for transfers is keeping my hopes up, but I am just worried about my college GPA and the fact that I am out of state. I know that they accept almost everyone, but what do you think my chances are? My essay on the application was very good as well.
