The Honors College application states that a 3.71 core GPA is required if your high school does not provide class rankings. Is that a weighted or unweighted GPA?

I verified it's unweighted GPA unfortunately, but around 25% of students are accepted to Honor college based on submitted essays.

My daughter is currently at around 19% in her class of 400 and her GPA is 3.61 unweighted and around 3.90 something weighted. I'm hoping that she finishes with a higher GPA this year and her class percentage goes up. We plan on sending in and hoping they accept her anyway (which it says you can try to do), especially since she takes all honors classes.

Tori_mom, Thanks. I am curious how you were able to verify this information. We have gotten conflicting information.

mtt4kbt ,
We had an appointment with the Honor College counselor during our summer visit and got answers to all our questions ( including that one) . She encouraged my D to apply in any case and list her senior classes, all activities, internships and so on. But even in case if you are not accepted you can apply for the next semester ( your GPA should be 3. 2 or 3.5 , I don’t remember exactly.
My D. applied to Honor College 1,5 weeks ago; and she should get a decision after 2 weeks. The only thing she has not been accepted to the University yet, but as counselor told us, once you got your Student ID, you can apply, and she got it in the letter with her online login information. We’ll see, how it works.....
