I was recently accepted to USF and invited to the honors program. I plan on going to medical school so I was wondering how hard the honors classes are because I don't want to hurt my GPA too much. Thanks

I’m doing the same thing! I got into the honors college and want to go to medical school and of course classes will be a little more challenging, but I think the focus is more about group discussions and critical thinking than insanely hard classes. Just my opinion. I’m actually going this Friday to the scholar showcase to learn more about the honors college.

my sister actually said they were NOT hard-- the class sizes were small, the topics were interesting, and there was no busy-work or dumb assignments to lose points on. lizz is right, it’s more about critical thinking and intelligent discussion. her classes often had 10-15 people and you could get to know your professors very well-- which is great for future letters of reccomendation!!

she said most of her Honors classes had a paper or project to do for your grade, and as long as you participate and give well thought out input (both in class and on the final projects) you will get an A. she loved her Honors classes. I can’t wait til I start this fall!! :)

Were you also accepted into the honors program?

yep!! I was :)

Cool! I’m glad to hear that the honors program is really good
