Does it make a difference for W&M admission if a student is transferring from Honors College? Does it increase student's chances?

We certainly note when a student has either taken honors courses or been involved in an honors program. Certainly that is an academic distinction of which we take note and can certainly be beneficial in our review process assuming you have done well in the honors program.

If a student has 3.6 GPA, do you weight it higher if it’s Honors program? I’m not sure if I understand “take note” term.

Honors colleges/programs are different at each institution so if a student is enrolled in one, we will take note of that during the review process and try to learn more about what that student’s particular honors program entails. Some honors programs add quite a bit of rigor to a student’s experience while others may not but we will do our best to learn about the student’s particular program and consider the rigor of that student’s work in that program appropriately.

A certain GPA from an honors program can certainly be a plus factor in a student’s application. It just depends on what that particular program entails.

How do you rate GMU (George Mason University) Honors College?

To our knowledge, GMU’s Honors Program does allow students to take some unique and advanced course work and being selected for an honors program is often selective and we are appreciative of that.
