Honors CP vs. UMBC

So i know someone posted something similar to this earlier, but i think my situation is unique enough to deserve its own thread.

I got into Smith School of Business at CP and i got the deans scholarship for two years 4500. I also have some outside scholarships which would basically cover the cost of tuition for the first two years and part of the last two years. This means I can go to Cp for free if i commute 30 minutes everyday from my house and pay for my own food.

I also got into UMBC except they gave me a full scholarship and with my outside scholarships i would reach their ceiling and i would get a check at the end of every semester for 1000 dollars for personal expenses. Basically im getting paid to go there. UMBC is only about 10 minutes away from my house.

In the other thread most of the people were suggesting going to UMBC for free for four years if they planned on going to graduate school. My situation is different because i want to get a degree in finance or Info Systems Mgmt and then go onto get an MBA. Should i still go to UMBC knowing the at CP they have a really good business school, or can i learn the same thing and then try to get into the elite graduate schools later on? HELP.

What are your options? I wouldn't suggest commuting at all. Both UMBC and UMCP are good academically. The ideal situation would be to go to CP and dorm. The business school is great, and it's a fun school. You also seem pretty well-financed to go there. You will be working for a few years before you get your MBA, so you shouldn't worry about paying off about 20K in student loans. More than that I would be concerned about. To me, it seems like you've got your based covered financially and could both go to CP and then later elite graduate schools.

If it is between commuting to CP and dorming at UMBC, I would dorm at UMBC. You would essentially learn the same things at both schools, and once you land your first job, your college resume won't even matter anymore.

To me, CP in this case (edge academically and way more fun!) would be my choice, especially since you've got so much scholarship money.
