Can any current students in the honors program, parents of kids in the honors program, or alumni look at my honors essay? I'll PM it to you. I used the prompt about speaking backwards.

Thanks! :)

OMG those prompts are so amazing… why cant those be the regular admission prompts… i would have a much better shot of getting in :(

Haha I love them. They’re unique and quirky.

u be my competitors O.o haha

Does anyone know what the percentage of students who apply to the honors program’s acceptance rate is? I know it is competitive but is it like 50% or higher?

I believe it’s 1 student per 11. So about a 9% chance?

^That’s the percentage of people in the incoming class that are in it, and obviously not everyone applies. It’s anyone’s guess on what the acceptance rate is.

are you invited to apply or do you decide to apply on your own?

^
If you’re not invited, you can shoot them an e-mail, and they will extend an invitation to you.

When did you get your Honors invitation? I got accepted on December 16th and I havent heard anything from them

A week-ish ago. I don’t mean to be condescending, but you might not fit the criteria. I think they look for a 32 or above on the ACT as well as a 3.9 or higher GPA. I’m not sure though–they specifically state it on the honors website. Then again, they might just be sending the e-mails out at different times?
