Honors Housing with non-Honors Roommate? And best dorms for Business majors?

I'll be a freshman in BHP next year and I'm planning on rooming with my friend who will be a regular Business student. Would it be possible for us to do honors housing?

Also, we had previously put Duren as our first choice, but after visiting the campus I found out that it is way too far from the business school. Which dorms have a good location for business students? We're thinking about San Jac, Brackenridge/Roberts, or Honors if possible.

I’m not positive, but I believe that it would be possible to do honors housing.

The best dorms for the business school are Jester and any of the smaller surrounding dorms (Brackenridge, Moore-Hill, Prather).

I’d look into off-campus housing too if I were you. As far as that goes, Dobie is the closest.

I’m pretty sure you both have to be honors students to do honors housing but just check with the office of housing.

Nah, you don’t both have to be honors students. Get housing done early and you’ll likely get it.

They do let non-honors kids in, but you’d have to apply freakishly early for there to be a chance. The fact that you’re already in honors and have requested her specifically would help a great deal. But honors housing is usually rather high in demand and there are people in honors who applied for honors housing for their first choice and still didn’t get in.

Jester is super convenient for the business school! But freshman year you don’t really take a whole bunch of business classes. You do have to take econ if you’re not already getting credit for that, and econ is close to honors dorms.
