I've heard that Busch is the campus to be on if you want to hang out with asian people.
But I've also heard the McCormick suites stink from a social standpoint because you're limited in interaction to the people in your suite.
Are there a good amount of asian people in the other Honors Dorms? also at McCormick, do you meet alot of people outside of your suite?

hmm not much I don't think. there's only me and another asian girl (not counting indian) in my dorm on jameson. not too sure about brett, but the people i know from there are not asian.

and I have friends in mccormick who can attest that you pretty much stick with your suitemates. It's harder to meet people in suites, since there are not any chance encounters in the communal bathroom or in the lounge or in the halls since you're pretty much confined to your suite. of course, if you exert some sort of effort, you can probably, most likely make friends who do not live in your suite.

true, thank you. also what asian organizations are there? i know people in the ksa, but i'm not korean so that doesnt help, although ive started learning it. are there other predomenantly asian student orgs? by asian i mean easter asian/oriental

uhhmmm hmm. my friend runs ccf the chinese christian fellowship. there are also tons more asian religious clubs on campus, but there are non-asian people in those too. i can't remember what else.

and for non-religious things, there is native tongue, which im sort of involved with, not really. it's an asian american issues newspaper, basically. and there are a lot of other things that just aren't coming to me now.

For current and former Rutgers Honors students- which are the best honors dorms in terms of best freshman experience (meeting lots of new friends, decent but not OD parties), best people, etc.? I heard that McCormick has nicest dorms, but you are limitied to meeting few people. I've heard that Brett dorms are worse but the people and atmosphere is better? I'm a pretty smart guy I'm gonna wanna meet smart friends and girls and have a life my first year, which should I choose? And is housing guaranteed? Thankss

john, as for asian organizations, there are many ranging from korean (like you said) to vietnamese, chinese, or taiwanese and from religious to non-religious. theres just so much here

fastballer: it seems like brett would be a good fit for you if you want that kind of social life. mccormick is..kind of quiet, and as you said, limited in terms of whom you meet since it's harder to meet people outside of your suite. maybe try visiting, see which dorm you like better?

also if you want to meet girls...i'd say brett hall.

and housing is guaranteed for first-years, and for the most part, honors program kids.

I'll be attending NB SAS and will be part of the Honors program - As an English major, which campus would be the best for me to live on?

Thx

I would say College Avenue gwirion. Most of the English classes are there (specifically Murray Hall on Voorhees Mall).

I think you would get to dorm in Brett Hall considering it is a residence hall for those enrolled in the SAS Honors program.

Thanks MushaboomBlue!

i dont think it matters where you live as a first-year. you should live where you want to live, disregarding your major. you probably won't be taking all english classes in your first-year anyway. it really starts to matter when you are an upperclassman.

Does anyone know if the housing application for Fall 2009 for incoming freshman is online yet? If yes, how do you get to it? Also, will there be a place on the appication to indicate Honors housing as I will be in the SAS honors program?

gwirion, im not sure if the housing applicatio is up yet, but i believe you can check it on your rutgers status page. and yes, there should be a place to indicate honors housing.

how is brett hall set up? Same sex floors/mixed sex floors?

brett hall is mixed floors. its chill.

great! thanks levitylev.

I got a question, if I transfer to Rutgers(from CCM) into the School of Engineering Honors Program, can I be in Brett or only the stuff on Busch? Also, is there any honors housing on C/D?

honors housing on douglass is in jameson H which is all girls. i don't know if you are a girl but if you are, yay for you and if not, oh wells. not sure about cook. but most upperclassmen on cook live in the apartments anyway ie henderson newells or starkeys.

and hmm about rooming in brett, I'm assuming you could. I can't see why not. not all the engineering kids I know live in barr or mattia so yuuupp.
