It doesn't look like it to me. There is information here about applying for the honors program later, if you are a direct admit: http://www.kelley.indiana.edu/ugrad/honors/apply.cfm

Everyone who got invited to Honors would have also qualified for a Direct Admit to Kelley.

Not everyone who got Direct Admit to Kelley would have qualified for Honors.

not necessarily. you have to apply in march/febrary for mitte honors. you need:
*a 3.5 gpa, as of the end of the 2nd semester. you can still apply if your 1st semester gpa is below, but if it doesn't come up you;re out.
*to have at least one teacher who would be willing to write you a rec. if you're in x104 (and almost everyone is), that teacher sends a rec automatically
*you need to be a member of two clubs. it says you have to be in a leadership position, but at the info session she said as long as you're a member you're good

The Kelley Honors Program (called Mitte) is separate from Hutton. Being in one does not mean you will be in the other.

As Zippo said there are different qualifications.

You cannot apply to Mitte until second semester freshman year.

And being a direct admit does not mean you will be in Mitte, however many or most direct admits end up in Mitte.
