Honors Letter

I just got a letter from the honors college inviting me to their Honors Visitation Day. I applied for RDII and have not even gotten admitted yet. Does this mean I am into UF? Probably, right? Could I really get into the honors college without getting into the university?

i'm sure anyone who meets the requirements for honors will be accepted

Sorry but could you post your stats?

Yea that means you were probably accepted.

It said on the letter that this had nothing to do with admission. Somewhere else on this board was mention of a 4.0+/1410 kid getting rejected from UF, so I guess those requirements aren't guarantee for admission this year.

I said probably, not guaranteed.

now the humor would truly be in place if he was rejected

Again, is I've mentioned before, i believe that this day is more to sway your opinion if you are sitting on the fence as to which university to attend. many people that exceed the qualifications for the honors program apply to other top level universities. As it was explained to me, this day is a way of UF attempting to get you to lean in their direction. However, i don't think that they'd send you that letter unless they were already interested, AND most people that meet the qualification of the honors program get accepted, unless your severely lacking EC-wise. And yes, if you get into the honors college, you must first be admitted to the university (hence there is a separate application).

I received one yesterday also. It said I was invited to the Honors College and that I should bring 7 dollars to the conference...etc

But I won't be attending UF next year, so I didn't pay great attention to the letter.

erhswimming, you are right. My friend was invited to visit the honors college, yet he was flat-out rejected. He's currently in the process of appealing.
