Honors or Duren?

Best chance with girls-Honors Quad or Duren? Are the Honors dorms that bad?

They probably aren't that bad, but Duren is better.

Best chance with girls?

Well if you want Honors girls then Honors. Non-Honors girls probably Duren.

Duren IS located right across from SRD, and right across from Kinsolving, and just down from Littlefield, and a short walk to Hardin House.

Honors is pretty close to all of those dorms as well, but Duren has the edge.

I'm currently facing the same dilemma plus San Jacinto. Every day I keep changing my mind. Duren is very nice, almost like a posh hotel. San Jac isn't quite as nice looking, but it beats most of the dumpy dorms on campus by a long shot. They each are convenient to different parts of campus, and I just don't know at this point where to go.

dude that's what i'm trying to decide between too. i mean, i'm a girl, so not about the girl thing, although there is prolly more girls than guys in the honors dorms so you'll prolly have more options.

i just don't know if i'd rather live in honors or duren. because are the honors dorms really boring and quiet? i'm not sure... but i don't want to be around super studious kids alllll the time. but i do want to be able to work when i need to work and maybe be around other Plan 2 kids sometimes.

san jac is my third choice right now, but it's kind of inconvenient to the engineering buildings... but it's by jester and that might be fun?

i heard kinsolving has the best food?

i really wanna live in blanton but not either of the other honors dorms.. i wish we could specify.

I posted this in another thread, but my friend lived in the honors dorms freshman year and said it was surprising social. But I'm still having the same debate as you guys. My main concern is being cut off from the rest of the university if I do all honors stuff.

i went and visited most of the dorms last night and checked out the rooms and everything. i went into blanton (honors dorm) and it was absolutely dead and boring. the girl there though said she didn't like it cuz it could get loud and that she wasn't gonna live in the honors dorms next year. but she said it was nice if you wanted to get to know people. but that whole side of campus with the honors quad and duren was really like dead and everyone there seemed unhappy and almost everyone i talked to was liek 'uh i don't like it over here'. and on the other side of campus in san jac and jester there was a ton of activity and everyone was like "ya i love it over here" so that totally converted me. i think i'm gonna put jester as my third choice (after san jac and duren). i don't even know if i'm gonna put the honors dorms anymore...
san jac and duren are really nice. they are like fancy hotels. but duren location does sorta suck unless you wanna be near the honors quad.

Yeah I'm having the same dilemma about Duren and San Jac. I love both because they're both really nice, have private bathrooms, and they're fairly large. However, there aren't much testimonials about Duren seeing as how it's so new. But it IS all the way on the edge of campus, however, it's near the drag, and as freshman, you have classes all over campus anyway.

San Jac, on the otherhand, is extremely close to the football stadium (!!!!) and it's way more convenient location-wise. It's somewhat central and most things are a shorter walking distance away than Duren. Haha but the inside of Duren is insanely nice. Bahhhh I'll have to make a decision sooner or later.

University Towers are unbelievable
