Honors Precalculus

Hi, my friend asked me whether taking Precalculus through EPGY or CTY is better. I honestly don't know so which class would be more in depth because somethings are different between these two curricula.

CTY: http://www.cty.jhu.edu/math/scope/precalc.htm

EPGY: http://epgy.stanford.edu/courses/math/M013/index.html?lessons

why don't you just say "i'm not sure which one to choose. i haven't taken precal yet, so could you please help me?" i'm sick of all of these "my friend.."posts. everyone knows it's you! stop being so sensitive.

well i think precalc is the hardest math i've ever taken (but managed to get an A in it) and do not recommend anyone taking it over the summer....but if you ask me, i would say EPGY

It can be tough. You spend half of the year doing nothing but functions (which are very boring), and the other half doing trig (which isn't too bad).

Yea, it would be hard to do in one summer.

I'm going to do AP Calculus BC through EPGY, but I've never taken a math course from CTY so I can't really help him.

Eh, they're probably about equivalent. And it's probably best to learn most of the material from the textbook anyway. But looking at the curricula CTY sounds more "Mickey-Mouse" and less serious than EPGY, so I'd say go with EPGY.

Note that it's probably better just to take a normal class since I got an A+ in Algebra I through EPGY and didn't understand any of it. So the standards might be a bit questionable.

My class from CTY is going to start soon. I'm so scared. Fizix, you better help me. :p

I can't wait for next year! It's going to be a good year.
