Honors Program at OSU

Hi, I’m a senior in HS and I’m applying to OSU and hoping to get into the honors program.

I am in the top 10% of my class and I have an sat of 2000 (1340 CR+Math) and I see the honors program requirement is top 10% of your class and a 1340 in CR+Math (lucky me).

Just wondering if having just the minimum requirements met is good enough. I think I might have a better class rank but I’m still a little worried about my SAT. Thanks for your time.

If those are the requirements, you’re definitely fine. Some people get in with lower stats.

If you don’t get in when you apply, wait a few months and then email them and appeal. I know that worked for some people and by then OSU will be starting to hear that some accepted students are going elsewhere.

Alright, thanks guys.

Also, just a little off topic, does the same apply for scholarships?
The requirement is 32 on ACT or 1420 on SAT (CR+Math) and top 3% of class.
If you have the necessary score but lack the ranking requirement or vice-versa, would you still be considered?

No one at OSU will guarantee honors admission…I will tell you my dd went through the same angst…had the test scores and grades but not class rank (school did not rank but sure they knew where she was from past grads) and was accepted, invited to honors and maximus and won the medalist full tuition scholarship from it.

Is everything (honors and maximus) all by invitation?

Yes both honors and Maximus are invitation only. Honors may be requested, if you want to argue your stats and I believe you can apply again as an OSU freshman
