I'm having trouble understanding how exactly you get into the honors program at osu. I've read a few threads on here, and they all say the requirements are a 30 ACT and top 10%, but on the honors website it says NOTHING about that. Also, other threads have said that you don't apply, osu invites you after reviewing your undergrad application. But on the osu site, it gives you an application to fill out. I'm assuming that osu has changed it's honors admissions? Clarification on that would be nice.

I'm interested in the Honors program because it guarantees you acceptance to the nursing program. I'm in my junior year of hs right now. How hard is it to be accepted into the honors program?
Here are my stats so far
GPA: 4.0
Rank: #1
Sports: Track 2 years (and counting) so eventually 4 years.
I'm sure I'll be in the national honor society also when the time comes around this year
Volunteer work: 60+ hours in church nursery
Member of FCA all four years, member of quiz bowl one year (this is my first year)
ACT: I've only taken it once(during my sophomore year), and got a 24. Buuuut, I should have somewhere around 28-30
And I'm filipino. Not sure that makes a difference but whatever.

Anyways, help would be much appreciated!

Oh I almost forgot! I’m not sure if this makes a difference, but I’m a post-secondary student. I take almost all my classes at ohio university southern for hs and college credit. I stay at the high school half the day for two classes(I didn’t want to completely miss out on the hs experience). It’s hard balancing half hs-half college and still doing track but I’m managin ;)

Be sure to keep your “high school student” status even tho you’re doing dual enrollment. You don’t want to lose your “incoming frosh” status for scholarships and aid.

Even tho you’ll have college credits, as long as you haven’t graduated from HS, you’ll still be an incoming frosh.

Sounds like you need to raise your ACT. Right now, that should be your focus. Also take the SAT …practice for both.

Even with your college credits, you won’t be a transfer student if you apply while you’re in high school.

Maybe people are confusing OSU with Ohio U…Ohio U says this…

*While exceptional circumstances are considered, ideal HTC applicants should have minimum standardized test scores of 30 on the ACT and/or 1300 on the SAT and should be in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. Strong portfolio work is also a must for those students applying for programs in English, Journalism, Film, Dance or Theater. An on-campus interview is also required. (For more information on admissions requirements and deadlines, please visit the “How to Apply” page for prospective students.)

OSU says this:

*Is there a minimum test score or class rank/GPA to apply?

There is no minimum set of requirements to be considered for the Honors Program. All interested students are encouraged to apply. Please note that your application will not advance in the review process until you are admitted to the Columbus campus (regional campus applicants can also apply to the Honors Program by following the “click here” link above). *

However, I wouldn’t take the fact that there’s no minimum score to mean that you don’t have to have a higher score. You’re not a URM. You will likely need a higher score.

Thanks for clearing that up! And like I said above, that 24 was just during my sophmore year, most people don’t even take it that year. I took the act to see what it was like. I’ll have a much higher score by the end of this year. I’m shooting at AT LEAST a 28 by the time I’m done.
And I’m taking my duel-courses at OU, but I almost definitely do not plan on attending OU. I don’t even plan on doing post-secondary my senior year.
