I didn't apply to honors on the original application. I was told I could apply when I enroll and am there in the fall, but I was wondering when would I be admitted into the honors program? (would it be right away or after a semester or what?) And what do they expect for people to get into the honors program?

From the Honors Program web page:

Students who did not apply or who were not admitted to Honors as incoming freshmen may participate later. Full-time matriculated University of Delaware students who have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher in at least 12 credits at the University of Delaware are eligible to take Honors courses on a space-available basis. Students who wish to apply to the University of Delaware Honors Program must be full-time matriculated University of Delaware students and have a minimum 3.40 cumulative GPA at the University. They must also have completed a minimum of two Honors courses (6 credits) with grades of B or better and submit an application, along with two letters of recommendation from Honors faculty members who have taught you and given you a final grade in an Honors course. The committee reviews applications twice a year; the deadlines for submitting applications are October 15 and March 15.
