Honors Program

Does anyone have any experience with the honors program and the invitation process? I have read in the FAQ for the program "Some applicants to the incoming freshman class who have been offered the Magis Scholarship are invited to apply" and typically about 30 freshman are accepted to the program. I was curious if anyone knew how they select those applicants, how the process works once invited and any overall experience with the program.

There is a thread here that said the invitations were sent out in February, but that is from 2010 so I was looking for something more current.

Thanks in advance.

I was selected as a Magis Scholar and just got an email about the Magis Scholars’ Program which is on campus, and they have a presentation on applying to the Honors Program. I’m fairly certain that applicants have to be selected as Magis Scholars in order to apply, and then the Honors Students are chosen from that group.

My daughter got her letter this week with the invitation to the Magis scholars event as well.

Thanks

As a mom of a Fairfield graduate, 2014 you have picked a stellar University! Congratulations!

Did anyone make the Magis event? Did they talk about the process for applying to the honors program? We were not able to make it.

I was not able to. In the invitation it says to email the director if you are still interested in the honors program. The application is due this 3/19

It is a simple 2 page essay -no big deal-, but only 30 freshman get chosen. Hope this helps!

Thanks, she did email and got the prompt.

Thanks
