<p>Hypothetically, if I were to take the first two semesters of the Honors Program, pass the classes but not enjoy it/struggle with it a lot, could I drop the honors program altogether (and still get credit for the writing/literature/philosophy/theology core)?</p>
<p>I am going to attempt the Honors Program but I just don’t know if it is for me. And if I don’t like it, I hope that I don’t waste 12 credits of core classes.</p>
<p>I do not believe that you will receive all of that Core credit after one year – for writing/lit/philosophy/theology credit, you need to remain in the program for two years.</p>
<p>According to the course listing book, I would receive writing and philosophy core credit from the first semester freshman year, literature and theology credit for the second semester freshman year, and social science credit throughout sophomore year.</p>

<p>Dear sdkidwooh : Go into the Honors Program with the idea that you will complete the entire course work. The first and second years are the more challenging in terms of work load (reading) and the writing requirement will vary by professor. There is undoubtedly some translation weighting as you have suggested in moving out of Honors for core credit however you should find Honors to be a much more integrated approach to the core than individual classes. If you made the Honors program, you should also find the smaller classes and participants more in step with the upper academic students you knew in High School. Hopefully, this advice helps.</p>
